John has been a pastor since 1999, and Kath is a trained psychological therapist. Together, we bring a heart for people, a deep love for community, and a desire to see lives transformed. Married with two wonderful children, we’re also the proud "parents" of a much-loved cat and enjoy the simple joys of life in our campervan. Whether it’s sharing a meal, listening to someone’s story, or offering a space to belong, we are passionate about creating a church that feels like home. Our hope is that Oasis Church will truly be an oasis – a safe, refreshing, and welcoming place for everyone. Whether you're single, part of a couple, raising a family, or enjoying retirement, there's a place here for you.
Hi! We are James and Jill, and we are part of the leadership team at Oasis Church. We have been married since 2016 and live in Oswaldtwistle with our gorgeous little dog, Louie. We love going away in our campervan and experiencing new places, meeting new people and eating new food! James is the drummer on the worship team, occasional speaker and also on the youth church rota. He is the son of John and Kath and has attended the church since birth! He was baptised at 18 and firmly believes and stands on the promises in God's Word. He has always been a people person and loves nothing more than stopping for a chat with a neighbour, colleague, church member or dog walker! Jill has been attending the church since being with James and got baptised in 2018. Over time has taken on roles and responsibilities that she couldn't have imagined ever doing! Always being content with working in the background (and having an intense fear of the dreaded microphone) Jill is now head of finance at Oasis Church and can regularly be heard during the service, worshipping, praying and chatting to others, sharing God's love in the best way possible, by building relationships.
We're semi-retired pastors, having returned from 15 years ministering in Europe, in 2019. We beleive that God led us to the Oasis Church, and it's quickly become our spiritual home and family. Our heart is simply to help and support the leadership and membership in any way that we can. We're currently involved in the worship team, the youth work, and anything from gardening to the computer.
